Linebacker Jordan Jones couldn’t wait to get to Kentucky, so he graduated from high school a semester early so he could go through 2015 spring practice.

It helped enough that he was able to play in eight games last season and make 10 tackles.

He was a four-star recruit and top 20 player in the Ohio. He was ranked as one of the top 40 outside linebackers nationally.

Now he’s hoping to earn one of the starting positions and has impressed defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot this spring.

“Jordan has a very enthusiastic personality. Some people may find that annoying. I don’t ,” Eliot said. “I don’t. But he brings that love for the game everyday. One hundred percent effort on every play and enthusiasm.”

Who finds that annoying?

“Some of the other players I think,” Eliot said.

Jones, who also ran track and played basketball in high school, is a player that Eliot wants on the roster and field if possible.

“I like having a guy that comes here every day and loves the game. His mouth may run but so do his feet. It’s a good thing,” Eliot said.
